OFTP over ICE

OFTP over ICE combines the reliable file-exchange-protocol OFTP with the security of an ICE (In Country Extranet) connection.
EDI over ICE it is only implemented when the Trading Partner already has the ICE connection or has been requested by Ford to implement it. If you do not have the ICE connection please choose another connection option.

Requirements

OFTP: You will need an OFTP software (OFTPv1 or OFTPv2)

Note: OFTPv2 does not require a PIVPN connection. .

ICE : You will need to establish an ICE connection.

NEW connection

1. Ask your Ford Business Sponsor to submit the EDI approval form (see the note below).
2. Set up ICE connection with Ford.
3. Purchase OFTP software (if not already in place)
4. Fill out OFTP license form with your OFTP parameters and send it to GSEC (scommssp@ford.com).
5. Configure OFTPv2 connection
6. Coordinate with GSEC team to test the connection

Important note:
According to Ford's Access Control Policy, a new EDI connection between a Trading Partner and Ford must be requested and approved by a Ford (or equivalent GFT, FCSD, etc.) business sponsor. If you are a trading partner seeking for a EDI connectivity with Ford, contact your Ford Business Sponsor, ask them to go to https://www.suppcomm.ford.com/europe/internal/frm_ediapproval.asp (for Ford internal use only).
Changes of an existing EDI connection does not require the approval of a sponsor.

OFTPv1 protocol description

The Odette File Transfer Protocol (OFTP) has long been one of the most established protocols for automated standardised data exchange between trading partners. It was created by ODETTE (Organisation for Data Exchange by Tele-Transmission in Europe).
